Born Richard Matthew Cocovich, Richard distinguished himself in athletics—particularly baseball—during his youth, earning numerous accolades. His father, who shared the same name and passed away in 2017, was a banker and private funding executive with a major U.S.-based financial institution. 

Through this early exposure, Richard developed a deep and practical understanding of the private funding and banking industries.

Driven by an interest in entertainment-based ventures, Richard attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, widely regarded as one of America’s premier institutions for entertainment and production education. During his studies, a chance meeting with a renowned film director and producer proved pivotal; the mentor advised Richard to relocate to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, following graduation. 

In 1991, Richard founded his first private funding consulting firm and moved to Hilton Head Island, where he has remained ever since. From that point forward, his career expanded globally and without pause.

Having advised clients in 126 countries and all 50 U.S. states, Richard is regarded as a high-level consultant and strategic expert engaged by project principals to secure private funding facilitators and qualified investors. In 2014, he recognized a troubling shift in the industry, as inexperienced and unethical actors began misrepresenting their expertise and leading clients into failed and damaging transactions. In response, and at the request of multiple high-net-worth investors seeking a trusted liaison for their funding facilitators, Solo Alliance USA was established.

Following the unexpected passing of his father in 2017, Richard adopted Richard Matthew as his professional name to eliminate confusion among clients and to ensure clarity regarding his independent identity and legacy.

Today, over $30 billion USD in private capital stands available to the vetted clients and projects Richard represents. His expertise spans projects across all major sectors, and his engagement protocol—developed over decades—is non-negotiable and strictly required by elite private investor networks worldwide.

All meetings are conducted in person and only after full engagement has been executed. Funding facilitators frequently accompany Richard to these meetings to ensure alignment, transparency, and execution at the highest level.
